The streets of Shanghai are an obstacle course. My runs are more a series of short sprints than the 10km runs I’m used to on the treadmill in my Loughborough gym. People have a tendency to walk in the middle of the side-walk here, the scooters don’t differentiate between a foot-path and the road, and the cars don’t necessarily stop for a red light. There are elderly couples lounging in couches outside, and big and burly men (well, relatively big..) walking dogs that, by right of their size, belong in Paris Hilton’s bag. The streets are a maze, and it makes for some pretty good photos.
I cheated a bit for the last photo, it’s the view as you leave my apartment block!
On a side note: thank you to all of you that keep coming back to read my posts If you’ve commented on a post and not heard anything back, it might be that I have actually replied, but that the emails telling you about it haven’t come through! Sorry about that, I haven’t really figured out how to fix that yet.. But I try to reply when I can, so have a look!
