So Let Me Introduce Myself:

RENÉE
Snap-happy, compulsive traveler due to a childhood spent moving throughout Asia. Developed an almost unhealthy obsession with small and “cute” collectable items that end stacked up in my wardrobe or piled under the bed until I find a better destination (i.e. in the wardrobes or under the beds of my friends). Completed my undergraduate degree in International Relations with a minor in Economics at Loughborough University in June 2012, after 3 amazing years involved with LSRag, hall committees, and Lufbra Students Union.  Now onto the next adventure: after 10 years, I’ve returned to Shanghai to study Mandarin at Fudan University!

VAN DIEMEN
Mom and Dad decided to move from Hoofddorp, the Netherlands to Shanghai, China in October 1998, taking their 2 (extremely cute) little blond children with them. 4 1/2 eventful years later, we were introduced to a very different culture when moving to Mumbai, India. The next step came in 2005, when our house was packed for the 3rd time and shipped to Manama, Bahrain. Today, our little Dutch family is spread across 2 continents and 3 countries, with my younger (but not so small anymore) brother in Holland, parents in Bahrain, and me back to living in our first Asian-destination: Shanghai!
